Cuisine of Bulgaria
The cuisine of Bulgaria is not unlike Turkish or Greek cuisine, served-up with plenty of grilled meats and hearty stews.

In Bulgaria there is an abundance of fresh fruits and vegetables, succulent meats grilled to order with complex sauces, colorful vegetarian dishes, the banitsa, or cheese pie, which sounds as good as it tastes, and the world-famous Bulgarian yogurt.
Indulge in the Bulgarian Bansko-style kapama, which is a feast of meat and vegetables perfectly stewed in earthenware cooking dishes.
Also, take delight in the Rhodope cheverme, a dish of lamb finely roasted over a spit in open flame. Along with Bulgarian sweets like pancakes and fresh jam, baklava and cakes served with piping-hot Bulgarian coffee.
