Bulgaria is one of the world’s largest wine producers, along with France, Italy, Spain and Greece.
The most famous Bulgarian white and red wines are Gumza, Dimiat, Muscat, Pamid, Mavrud, Misket and Melnik. They are premium Bulgarian wines known by connoisseurs around the world.
There are five wine-growing regions in Bulgaria: South Bulgaria is famous for its red wine, North Bulgaria is known for its white wine, as well as the Black Sea area, and the area around Melnik which is known for its full-bodied red wine. The microclimate in Bulgaria is superb for wine-making.
